Tove Krogh (b. 1957 / Denmark), i graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen and Aarhus Art Academy, where she have worked on a graphic line. In 1992 she moved to Norway. First she lived in Bykle for 5 years, but now she lives in Søgne, outside Kristiansand.
Krogh lives at Fellesverkstedet Myren Grafikk, where she works with gravure prints. That is, the subject is scratched, painted or embossed on a copper plate, which is then etched in an acid bath. The plates are stained and pressed onto each other on moistened cotton paper. Both the machining of the plates and printing are time consuming and therefore this technique is not widely used anymore. The motifs for her images most often come from her immediate surroundings. Preferably based on drawings from her always-present sketchbook.
